Keith Avedissian - Homeopath and Practitioner of Children's Health and Wellbeing

I am your local homeopath in Sydney’s CBD and Forestville and I have been in full-time practice since 1986.

I have always had an interest in health and this was what led me to study naturopathy graduating as a naturopath back in 1986. One of the subjects during my course was homeopathy; this was the beginning for my journey as a homeopath.

What I loved about homeopathy was its ability to be able to address a variety of conditions that as a naturopath there wasn’t that similar scope. In particular, it was the way one thinks about a case that really intrigued me: looking at how the whole person is factored into the prescription – what they say, do, think and feel.

Since we look at disease as being a disturbance at the level of one’s energetic state, its effect is therefore translated onto all levels of our being – mental, emotional and physical. What is really fascinating is trying to understand this relationship of one’s disease to the whole person.

As a homeopath, the remedies that are prescribed are done so in way that is aimed to address this whole person perspective. Even though parents bring their children in with specific conditions that they want treated, understanding the whole child in relation to their disease is what is really interesting and is what will lead to that specific condition being treated.

And what I also loved about homeopathy was the way that we looked at all of this to find a single remedy that helps treat all these levels. To me it seemed pretty amazing and this is the journey that I have taken with my practice. It has become one that has been a highly satisfying and rewarding one.

My practice is really a family orientated one, but I especially enjoy treating children having extensive experience in this area. I would say a big part of my practice is focused on this. The other area that I really enjoy is helping patients whose conditions have their origins at a mental and emotional level (See my website: Counselling Insights as I also provide counselling if required). In today’s world, stress, worry and depression are often contributors, triggers or reactions to how we are feeling physically. As a homeopath it is really satisfying to feel that we have something to offer.

Apart from my practice, I am also senior lecturer at Nature Care College teaching homeopathy since the late 80’s and more recently communication courses. It is at Nature Care that I met my wife Michelle who has become a naturopath. It is at my Forestville practice that we share our clinic together: Avedissian Natural Health.

We also have two teenage boys who have benefited from Michelle’s good dietary advice and any illnesses that they have developed have been managed with my homeopathic remedies so that they have never needed any antibiotics their whole life.

I have also run mentoring groups for post-graduate students and practitioner only seminars. I have had many case studies published in national and international journals.

Lastly, with my extensive experience in practice I provide high quality homeopathic treatment and management in a caring, professional and safe environment. I offer holistic health care to enable your child to get back to feeling the best they can.
